2017 MEET SCHEDULE
February 25, 2017 The Annual Knuckle Buster Chapter Meet (Bob Grubb)The annual February Knuckle Buster Meet will once again be held at Lake Wynonah near Auburn, PA starting at 8:00 AM. (No early birds please.) The meet is within the gated Lake Wynonah community which must be accessed from PA Route 183. It is 6 1/2 miles north of I-78. If you use mapping that directs you to a gate entering from Berne DR., this is not a pubic entrance. The swap meet will be held at the community lodge which should be found at 2537 Wynonah Dr. Auburn, PA on GPS and mapping services. A Continental breakfast and hot lunch will be served. Registration will be $7 per person. A shuttle will be provided to transport folks about a mile from the lodge parking area to my home and antique outboard museum building and back. The museum slowly but steadily gets updates and additions, so be sure to visit. We will have our annual business meeting at 11:30 AM and lunch at noon. The museum will be closed during the meeting and lunch period and will reopen after lunch. Overnight accommodations: For folks coming from the East on I-78, there is a Microtel at the Rt. 61N exit (Cabella's). There is a Dutch Motel and a Scottish Inn at the Shartlesville exit, but neither of these is recommended because of poor prior reports. If you are coming down I-81 from the North, there is a Day's Inn, a Ramada Inn and Pottsville Motor Inn in Pottsville on Route 61. For folks coming from the South or West (I-83, I-81, or I-78) there is a Comfort Inn at the Midway exit. If you are coming from the South and East by way of Reading, (PA 183) you might want to go West on I-78 to the Comfort Inn at Midway. E-mail or call for any additional information you need. March 4, 2017 Georgetown MA MeetThis years meet will be hosted by Larry Connors [ firstname.lastname@example.org, 617-217-1045 ] and will be held at the Georgetown VFW Post 7608, 435 Andover St Georgetown, MA from 8 am to 1 pm. Meet will be held no matter what the weather! It starts at 8:00. There is a large parking lot for setup and display. Please leave room behind the building for the club members to park. There will be coffee and donuts inside the large heated hall as well as inside rest rooms. Lunch is available from the VFW grill downstairs. March 25, 2017 Rocky Hill VFW Post 2103, 3277 Main St, Rocky Hill, CT.Tom Conti will once again be hosting this meet. (email@example.com 203-858-9205) It is one of (if not the) largest swap meet on the Yankee Chapter calendar and worth attending no matter how far you have to travel. In past years members from as far off as PA, TN and even Canada have attended. Attendees can warm up inside the VFW hall and lunch may be purchased from the VFW Grill. The VFW officially opens at 9:00 AM, although many members arrive early to swap in the parking lot.
May 6, 2017 Calvert, MD MeetSolomons Maritime Festival, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. FREE The event includes the Antique Boat and Marine Engine Show which features exhibits from over 30 collectors of antique and classic boats, and vintage marine outboard and inboard engines. You can taste traditional foods, learn how to pick crabs and shuck oysters like the pros, enjoy local gospel and old time music, see Chesapeake Bay retrievers in action, watch model boats skim the waters of the boat basin, talk with traditional crafts people as they demonstrate their skills. May 20, 2017 Windham, ME MeetDoug Davies' Wet Meet located at 248 Sandbar Rd. Great launch off a private beach. Lot's of swapping, selling, and giving going on. May 20, 2017 Mays Landing, NJ MeetThe meet will again be held on Lake Lenape, NJ 6303 Harding Highway in Mays Landing, NY 08330. Jim Purcell  563-2375 will be our host for this event. Lake Lenape features a great dock, a spacious beach area, ample parking and immaculate washrooms and showers. The event begins at 8 am and will include coffee and donuts and ample opportunity to swap and chat. Registration from 8 am - 11 am, lunch contribution will be $7 per person.
June 3, 2017 Hamlin, NY MeetThe 20th Annual Hamlin Wheel Fest Cruise-In & Antique/Classic Outboard Motor/Boat Display & Swap Meet presented by Monroe Extinguisher Company, Rochester, NY and Co-Sponsored by Spurr Dealerships and Mann Insurance Agency both of Brockport. Music by: Amazing Sound (courtesy of Mann Insurance Agency, Brockport, NY). Goodie Bags & Dash Plaques for 1st 150 Car Entries, Award Plaques, loads of door prizes! Boating participants of the Western New York Chapter-AOMCI Antique/Classic Outboard Motor/Boat display will be eligible for trophies in the following categories: Best Outboard Motor, Best Wooden Boat, & Best Non-Wooden Boat in addition the door prizes. The 1st 10 Outboard Motor/Boat Entires will receive a Goodie Bag and a Dash Plaque. A large area has been set aside for boats and motors. The Hamlin Wheel Fest Cruise-In & Antique/Classic Outboard Motor/Boat Display is open to the Public with NO Admission Fee and begins at 10am and wraps up by 4pm, but the festival continues until 10pm. Again this year is the WNY-AOMCI Chapter is hosting an Outboard Motor/Boat Swap Meet during the event. June 10, 2017 Blue Marsh Lake PA Meet(Bob Bragner) Bob will host his first Knuckle Buster Chapter meet at Blue Marsh Lake, near Reading PA. Please take this opportunity to support Bob and enjoy this new addition to our meet schedule. Blue Marsh Lake is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Park will host a "Get Outdoors Day" event on Saturday, June 10th from 9 am to 4 pm. This event is open to the public and is designed to educate the public about the recreational opportunities in Berks County and the surrounding area. Blue Marsh Lake has 38 miles of shoreline with ample opportunities for exploration. The event occurs at the Dry Brooks Day Use area, which features a boat launch site, restrooms and a snack bar serving hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, pizza and other treats. There is also a sandy beach near the Get Outdoors Day site to park your boat. This meet will provide a great opportunity to share our passion with the general public. June 24, 2017 Windsor, CT MeetRay & Barbara Schaber are the hosts for a meet at the East Barber St. boat ramp at Windsor Meadows State Park. (Located just 2 minutes off I-91, just north of Hartford CT) The event runs from 8:30 to 3:00. This is an absolutely beautiful section of the Connecticut River just above the historic Hartford waterfront. (See the past years meets by clicking on the links below) There are miles of river to explore and lovely scenery to take in. At the meet Ray has a chart showing the places you can go. There is also active swapping and trading of items in the parking area throughout the day - bring something and leave with two new ones! August 4-6, 2017 Clayton, NYThe Antique Boat Museum will host the 52nd Antique Boat Show & Auction. Activities include a boat show open to the public, children's crafts and games, food and music. August 19-20, 2017 Mystic, CT MeetMore than 300 engines will be exhibited and many will be operated for your viewing and listening pleasure. A large selection of marine models will also be on display to delight the young at heart. Weekend activities include a set-and-weigh anchor demonstration featuring a 1914 Economy Sparta donkey engine aboard the L.A. Dunton and the firing of several engines in the Shipyard, including a six-cylinder D-90 Lathrop diesel engine from the 1940s and a two-cylinder Wichmann semi-diesel from Norway. October 7,2017 Lake Hopatcong, NJThis meet hosted by Joe Ryan ( 973-335-3536)is held at Flash Marina at the North end of the lake, 155 State Rd 181, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849. Always a great swap meet and there are 50 miles of shoreline with bright Fall colors to explore. Coffee and Dunkin Donuts will be available all day long. Contribution will be $7. Lunch can be had at one of the many lakeside restaurants dotted around the lake.

Take the Garden State Parkway to exit 105 for Hwy 36 East. At the very 1st light make a right turn on to Hope Road. Go approximately 1 mile and then make a left on to Industrial Way. Go straight through the next light crossing over Hwy -35 and make a right turn on to Christopher Way (AOMCI Sign). Turn in to the second driveway entrance (AOMCI Sign) and go to the far end of the parking lot. Please set-up in designated parking areas. Coffee, Donuts and Bagels with a light Hot Dog Lunch provided for a $7 donation. There is a warm in-door lunchroom and rest rooms.
